Eating this food for breakfast is the key to losing weight fast

British weight loss expert Dr. Michael Moseley shared his advice to those who want to lose weight "quickly".

eggs, asparagus, diet, food, breakfast

He suggests following a crash diet that includes just 800 calories a day, with eggs for breakfast.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Dr. Moseley explained:

"This is a phased process – the first phase is rapid weight loss with 800 calories a day. Follow the diet for at least two to three weeks, and some people continue to follow it for up to 12 weeks.

Moseley addressed the studies that support his diet plan:

"A study in northern England of a diet involving eating 800 calories a day for up to 12 weeks showed an average weight loss of around 14kg. ”There was another study done by Oxford and they lost 10 pounds in a year."

The expert explained that one food is the best choice for losing weight:

"I eat eggs and asparagus for breakfast – the book has lots of recipes but I'm a big fan of eggs, eggs will fill you up."

"You can eat scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, whatever you want. Sometimes I eat eggs with ham or salmon. I'm afraid there's no toast, but that's why there's plenty of tea and coffee, plenty of fluids. I appeal to everyone on a low-calorie diet to drink plenty of fluids – because you can dehydrate," he explained.

While eggs for breakfast help you lose weight, the doctor warned that people watching their weight should be careful about what meat they eat, with a particular emphasis on processed meat which should be consumed in moderation.

Oil prices rose above $75, with US stocks in focus

Oil prices rose above $75 in international markets on Friday, boosted by signs of a strengthening US economy and a sharp drop in inventories ahead of further supply cuts from Saudi Arabia.  On the London market, the price of a barrel for delivery in September was 82 cents higher in the afternoon than at the close of trading yesterday and amounted to $75.33. Barrels for August delivery traded 52 cents higher at $74.86. On the American market, the price of a barrel increased by 86 cents, to 70.72 dollars.  Traders were encouraged by slightly increased estimates of US economic growth in the first quarter and a sharp fall in inventories last week, by as much as 9.6 million barrels.  The US economy grew by 1.8% in the first quarter, according to the Commerce Department, compared to the same period last year, 0.2 percentage points stronger than previous estimates showed. At the end of 2022, it increased by 0.9 percent.  Prices were also supported by Saudi Arabia's an...

Advantages and disadvantages of solar power energy

The technology that is utilized to collect and convert solar energy is known as solar energy. In 2011, less than 0.1 percent of the world's energy consumption was met by the technology. Many people are familiar with 'photovoltaic cells,' often known as solar panels, which are used in items like spacecraft, roofs, and handheld calculators. Semiconductor materials, similar to those used in computer chips, are used to make the cells. Electrons are dislodged from their atoms when sunlight strikes the cells. The cell produces electricity when the electrons move through it. Solar-thermal power plants use a variety of methods to concentrate the sun's energy as a heat source on a much bigger scale. The heat is then utilized to boil water, which powers a steam turbine to produce electricity in a manner similar to that of coal and nuclear power plants and serve thousands of people with electricity. In one method, sunlight is focused on an oil pipe that passes through the center o...

The global appetite for solar panels is exacerbating the silver shortage

Technological changes in the production of solar panels are increasing demand for silver, a phenomenon that is deepening a shortage in the supply of the precious metal, while there is limited opportunity on the horizon to secure additional mining, reports "Bloomberg". Silver, in paste form, is used for the conductive layer on the front and back of silicon solar cells. But the sector is already starting to produce more efficient variants of cells that use much more metal, and this will contribute to increasing the already growing consumption.   Solar power still represents a relatively small portion of total silver demand, but it is growing. According to a report by The Silver Institute, it will account for 14% of consumption this year, up from about 5% in 2014. Much of that growth is coming from China, which is expected to install more solar panels this year than the United States. Demand for silver from the solar industry is growing. Chart: Bloomberg Solar energy is “a great...
